Okay, so we are doing a project in L.A.
here is what the project is:
every kid in the class picks a historical figure, someone who made an impact on history. i picked: Judy Garland.
for those of you who don't know who she is, she played Dorothy on The Wizard Of Oz.
and so i dress up like her, memorize a one-two minute speech about her life, and on 12/12 the class goes into the gym and sets up their background and pretends like they are a wax figure. then when the rest of the school comes in, they are split up into groups and then they "activate" us. my activation is that they put Toto in my basket. the other thing is that i have to memorize my speech. i have no idea how. any tips on memorizing?

Practice, Practice, Practice. Also, highlight each line or two in different colors. It helps your mind memorize it if you look at it that way.

I would take a small chunk and recite it over and over. If you mess up, start over. Also try creating a dance or a song to help you remember.
